Not really, just some spring cleaning, and spending some time outside with the little guy. Maaaaybe buy a car if everything breaks right, but unlikely.

honestly.... i mostly bought it so i can re enact the crashes :)

Just working, 0500-1400. My weekends are Tuesday and Wednesday, but I’ve agreed to cover a co-worker Wednesday so I’ll only have one day off; paid overtime is a wonderful thing. I am finally getting the replacement window tinted on Tuesday after only 2+ years of meaning to get to it.
Since I only have the one day off I have to be productive and not make it a 3D day. Someone asked what that meant and I told them that it stands for didn’t do diddlysquat , which is probably the best way to spend a weekend.

Busy weekend starts today for me. Final step in the tooth implant is this morning. My son has an art show this afternoon. My daughter has the final showings of the school musical tonight and tomorrow. My son has a robotics competition tomorrow. And I travel back to Houston on Sunday after church. And I really, really want to go see the Avengers! That probably isn’t going to happen.

My better half works all weekend, so I’m left to my own devices. Sunday should be nice weather for a Miata drive. Tonight and tomorrow will be wet, so if I go out at all it will just be to play some pinball. My friend took me to a Pinball tournament last month and now I’m hooked.

I think there is a Photoshop filter that can recreate that color cast. It’s one of those situations where the color isn’t true but it makes the photo that much more vibrant and historic. Not like those stupid Instagram filters, but more like a filter that adds a layer of time, if you catch my drift.

I’m doing my very first “escape room” tomorrow. It’s kinda weird that it’s taken me so long, because I love puzzles and critical thinking challenges. Obviously, my goal is to break the record (they claim the fastest anyone has solved their current layout is 43 minutes). I’ll bet that I can do it in 41:27.
Other than that, the weather is beautiful. I might take the car up to some mountain roads for a couple hours to enjoy it before it gets hotter than the devil’s taint.

Quite the family man. My oldest caught Avengers last night, and is on his way to Corpus for a band trip. The rest of us will see it tomorrow morning. I’ve got opening night of La Traviata tomorrow night, a church service on Sunday morning, then a double orchestra rehearsal in the afternoon. Which also means I’ll miss my twins’ last soccer game, sure to be another humiliating loss after two winless seasons (it’s a long story). Lots of trumpet face in the next week and a half.

I still remember the days of 5 balls for a quarter. There’s a pinball arcade near us that I’ve been meaning to go to. Apparently, you can pay a flat fee and play all night. I’m down with that. Haven’t played pinball in years.

My family did our first escape room over the Christmas holiday. We had a little help from the game master, but we managed to solve the room (and save the world from nuclear annihilation) with literally 10 seconds to spare. It was a blast, would do it again.

I think the removal of the Perspex blisters on most decommisioned Cats was a crime, and Odenkirk clearly had the right idea there. Also, apparently Bedouins are why we can’t have nice things.
As to what I’ll actually be doing this Saturday, I may be replacing the beltline seals (lower window seals) on the Galaxie. Doesn’t appear to be that involved, can be done without pulling the door cards, but does require fighting with some staples.

There are a lot of arcades that now do pay by the hour or pay by the day. You have to play a decent amount for it to be worth it, but I like it. It gives me a chance to practice techniques without feeling like I’m wasting quarters. There’s an indoor skatepark near me with an arcade. They’ve got about 15 pinball machines and a few other games, and it’s $10 to play all day.

Some places are pricier. We went 5a neat place in NJ called Yestercades. A dozen pinball machines, air hockey, dozens of arcade games, and tvs where you could play anything from Atari to PS4. The hourly rate was like $7.50, but once you hit $25 it just became an all day pass.
I recommend using https://pinballmap.com to see what’s around.

Sunday I’m doing the Seneca 7 77.7 mile bike and run relay around Seneca lake NY. You do it in teams of 7 (naturally) so everybody runs about 11 miles split in 3 legs and bikes the other 66. I did it once with the same group of people 3 years ago and had a lot of fun, but I’m a little nervous this time around for 2 reasons: 1. I’m married and a homeowner now with a different job and a lot less time to train... and I weight a good 35lbs more than last time and 2. after the weather looking pretty decent all week they’re suddenly forecasting some rain and snow! and a high of 41... ugh.
Either way, it’s still a day spent outside rather than behind a desk at work - and our team has no real chance of being competitive anyways so I’ll just suck it up and enjoy it I guess!
